Everything you need to know about Registered Offices in Mexico
What is a Local Legal Representative in Mexico?
A local registered office in Mexico is required for incorporating a legal entity such as a Limited Liability Company (Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada) or Corporation (Sociedad Anonomina). All legal entities in Mexico require a local corporate address – this is referred to as a registered office or domicilio fiscal.

A domicilio fiscal or fiscal domicile is the official address of Mexican legal entity, linked to its RFC ID (Tax ID) in Mexico. It cannot be a simple PO Box but doesn’t have to be a formal “brick and mortar” establishment.

A virtual office can suffice as a registered office so long as a legal representative or representant legal of the Mexican company is readily available and the corporate and accounting documents of the company are on-site.

The domicilio fiscal or registered office usually is one of the following: the local offices of the foreign company where employees undertake their day-to-day activities, the offices of the local accounting firm, or the offices of the local law firm that represents the foreign entity.
Do I need a Local Legal
Representative in Mexico?
If you wish to incorporate a legal entity such as a Socidedad de Responsabilidad Limitada,
Sociedad Anonima (Limited Liability Company or Corporation), or if your goal is to obtain a Mexican RFC
you will need to have a local legal registered office and legal representative..
What Does Having a Local Registered Office in Mexico Involve?
Generally, the local registered office should be a physical location affiliated with your company such as local office, the offices of your local attorneys or accountants. It is impossible to incorporate a Mexican company or to obtain a Mexican RFC without this requirement.
Companies that do not plan to have physical operations or that employ only remote staff in Mexico need to make sure that their local office is able to provide service or utility bills, or other necessary proofs of address that are crucial to registering the company with the Mexican authorities.

Testimonials
Our company used MexInc Consultants to incorporate our company in Mexico, find an office, recruit our employees and run our payroll, and accounting. We couldn’t be happier. The inconvenience of having one company to handle everything made the process so much easier.
We came to MexInc Consultants to import and sell our electronic products in Mexico. We are a manufacturer of high-end speaker and audio systems. MexInc not only certified our products to be sold in Mexico with their accredited laboratory, but also set up all of our logistics and importation processes.
MexInc Consultants has worked with us since 2017. We didn't know anything about this market. They did an excellent job at educating us as to the local requirements and ensured that we avoided so many challenges. Now, we obtained our textiles importers permit and distribute products to Sears and Home Depot. We couldn’t imagine a better partner of the last decade.
